Nudge bars reduce the approach angle as they extend around existing panels, unlike a bullbar which usually improves the angle. This is unfortunate with the Santa Fe as it doesn't have a lot of clearance there to begin with.
However, if you're going to touch the front on an obstacle, better it be the tough nudgebar which can slide a bit, rather than a vulnerable panel which can crack. So we didn't think it would be too much of a problem. And having just returned from a weekend's sand driving, it wasn't. The bar was more than strong enough to hold the tall sand fl ag, and despite scraping a few times it held fi rm, and still looks good.
It's great to have somewhere to mount the flag, antennaand spotties, and even better if it also helps protect the vehicle when we take it touring.
