OL also supplied a spare-wheel access step. I never bother with any form of step but for those that do this one works very well once it's set up by means of a ratchet strap around the tyre. Easy enough, but there's a couple of small pins which could be lost. Then again it's on the spare wheel so it rarely needs to be removed.

In summary, I like this rack. Compared to my previous steel mesh beast it's a little shorter, half the weight, quieter, and has a brilliant addon system with lots of accessories available. While there are some improvement points I don't think I'd find a better rack anywhere else and look forward to having it carry out gear as we explore Australia.
